Another year begins!

We were at the cottage on the April 12-14 weekend.  On Saturday, April 13 a friend, Randy, and I put out the loon nest and the buoys.

We assembled the nest and added dead reeds from the shoreline.




After kayaking it over to the rough location for the nest, and adding the 3 cement blocks to hold it in place, Randy helped drag it out to the chosen location.

The three anchors were set in place to hold it from wind movement.

ANP & Buoys
After the loon nest was set, we added the buoys about 100' out from the nest in a semi-circle.

Now we wait for the loons to notice that their "home" is ready and lay the eggs.
